We are proud to present the Council of Mosques – Tower Hamlets Activities Report for January 2024 to March 2025, a comprehensive overview of our organisation’s transformative work in building stronger, safer, and more cohesive communities across the borough. This report showcases how CoM has served as a vital bridge between Tower Hamlets’ Muslim communities and essential statutory services, reaching thousand’s of community members across more than 40 mosques through innovative partnerships and targeted interventions.
From delivering life-saving first aid training and safeguarding workshops to coordinating major community cohesion events and responding to crisis situations, our work has addressed the most pressing needs identified by our communities. Key achievements include facilitating crucial dialogue between law enforcement and mosque leaders during periods of tension, delivering 25+ accredited training sessions, organising four major cohesion events that brought together over 800 participants, and fostering greater community understanding through initiatives like our “Iftar with Your Neighbours” project that opened mosque doors to the wider public. We have established robust partnerships with Tower Hamlets Council departments including Public Health, the Violence Against Women and Girls team, and the Hate Crime unit, while actively promoting interfaith dialogue and cross-cultural connections that strengthen the social fabric of our borough.
This report reflects our unwavering commitment to community empowerment, interfaith understanding, and civic engagement. As we continue to evolve our digital presence through our new website, mobile app, and updated mosque directory, we remain dedicated to ensuring that every voice in Tower Hamlets’ Muslim communities is heard, supported, and represented. We invite you to explore the full report to discover the breadth and impact of our collaborative work in building a more inclusive and united Tower Hamlets.
