On Saturday 1 August, the Council of Mosques – Tower Hamlets hosted a Meet Your Neighbours community event near Poplar Shahjalal Mosque, Hale Street.

The event was organised to foster community spirit and togetherness, bringing local residents together for an afternoon of fun and engagement. As a Local Cohesion Event, it was open to people of all faiths and none.

Families and friends attended throughout the afternoon, enjoying a range of activities including free food, a bouncy castle, henna, and arts and crafts. Council info stalls were also on hand, giving residents the chance to find out more about local services and support available in the area.

The event provided a welcoming space for neighbours to connect and build stronger community ties, reflecting the continued commitment of the Council of Mosques and Poplar Shahjalal Mosque to bringing people together in Tower Hamlets.
